Context
Environmental acoustic enclosure
The subject of the intervention is a filtering substation serving a company that is a leader in the wood sector.
The company, which has been operating in the area for several years, has been classified in acoustic class V.
In recent years, residential complexes classified in acoustic class III have been built along the boundary.
The company, attentive to protecting the health of neighboring residents, has requested a project to limit the noise pollution produced by its plant.
From the phonometer measurement carried out at 1 m from the filter, a noise level of 75 dB(A) with a tonal component at 400 Hz was detected.
The objective of the intervention is to reduce acoustic emissions by 25 dB(A) and eliminate the tonal component.

Solution
2Zeta’s solution: enclosure with a technical compartment
The intervention consists in the construction of an enclosure within a technical room inside the plant, which has considerable dimensions: L20 x H11 x D7.5 meters.
Our technical office worked in synergy with the Qualified Acoustic Technician appointed by the client, identifying the most suitable type of paneling to achieve the objective.
The study included a structural calculation to determine the most appropriate solution.
When installing the paneling, we took care not to cover the ATEX hatches of the substation, which are not required in the event of overlaps caused by filter anomalies, and which must therefore be kept unobstructed.
